Rearguard Falls Provincial Park. Located along the Yellowhead Highway just South of Mt Robson Provincial Park, this is the farthest upstream that Salmon can travel during their spawning migration up the Fraser River system. 1200 kilometres upstream from the Fraser River Estuary, only the largest and strongest of the Chinook Salmon - the largest species of Pacific salmon - can make it this far. The proposed Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain pipeline would run within perhaps one kilometre of the Fraser River here.
