One of a number of research/exploration camps within Ontario's Ring of Fire in anticipation of mining approvals and the construction of an all-season industrial highway.

Ring of Fire, James Bay Lowlands, Northern Ontario Canada, 2015.

This 5000 sq. km. vast area in the far north of Ontario is equally valued for hosting one the largest intact peatlands remaining on the planet - the most effective terrestrial ecosystem for sequestering carbon and therefore one of our best defences against climate change - as well as for their, so far largely undeveloped, mineral deposits.
